Rapid Transport project will aid Rustenburg economy

The growth of Rustenburg is at present in line with its projections for where the city of Rustenburg aims to be in terms of development by 2025.

At the forefront of this development is the Rustenburg Rapid transport project. The Rustenburg rapid transport system is the cornerstone of the development strategy to take Rustenburg to 2025 as a world class city. The project is essential for the improvement of lives through out the country. Rustenburg is one of 12 cities in South Africa that are part of this project.

The rapid transport system is aimed at improving the economy within the country and moreover in Rustenburg. This system will allow access to various parts of the city not previously accessed by many, and in so doing stimulate trade, and encourage entrepreneurship will providing easier access to necessities such as education.

As an efficiently functioning city, growth is an inevitable result. Growth in any economy generally leads to an influx of people and a greater need for housing. Manufacturers of building materials will see an increase in the demand for their products and the accompanying services. Locally produced bricks will facilitate the pace of expansion and also trim transport costs.

The presence of local brick manufacturers will allow potential employers to increase their workforce as a result of the savings incurred by using local products. Keeping the workforce local will in turn help to strengthen the economy of Rustenburg.

While the Rapid transport system is only one factor in the project that aims to have Rustenburg leading the economy by 2025 it is a system that will take between five and ten years to complete, all the while providing employment and creating further growth opportunities.

Rustenburg seems to be the place to keep an eye on for the forseeable future.
